Empty Me Hits Radio TODAY!!!

"Empty Me" hit radio today on the K-Love network, a network of over a hundred stations. Jon Rivers, a famous morning show host played the song several times and I did an interview with him this morning. Jon is also well known for his show "20 the Countdown Magazine" which is the top 20 in Christian music.

Anyway, you can check here to see if you have a station near you. If you do, then call in Monday and request the song!

Wow, this is kind of like birthing a baby, isn't it? (apologies to Lori, who no doubt is saying it's NOTHING like birthing a baby! LOL)
We've been watching, waiting, and anticipating for months, and now here it is!

EXCITEMENT IS RUNNING RAMPANT! OK, bloggers, get busy, now we can do our part to actively promote Chris. Call those K-Love stations in your area. Heck, call the ones not in your area! Risa

I've called or emailed everyone I know to get them to call in. When I get to work on Monday everyone at work will get my email telling them to call, call, call....This is so exciting.

I am adding the site below to assist everyone in calling. This site lists Christian radio stations by state. Click on your state and then click on the online radio call letter link OF A K-LOVE STATION to access the online radio site. You may be able to email them that way, or obtain a phone number to call.

Remember - it's only at K-LOVE stations right now, so use Chris's radio station list and this link together.

AHH Congrats. Unfortunately they don't have Buffalo, NY listed and that makes me sad. So I'll have to call Rochester which is an hour away and hope I can hear it online or something.

Just remember everyone not to call and bug them TOO much because then people may be a little annoyed and not play the song at all.

Well crap, nothing in AL, figures. Congrats Chris, things are moving right along!

Most of the K-Love stations in AR weren't on that list, Rosalee. I think I found two or three. Maybe other areas will be different.

There's only two in FL. One is 6 hours north of me, the other 3 hours south of me, bla. Atleast one is in Jacksonville where Carmen lives so hopefully she can get them to play Empty Me.

Lori, baby update-My sister had an ultrasound today and everything went well. The fluid around baby is fine, she's measuring well and is around 7lbs 6ozs. It's past midnight so it's officially her due date. I really don't think she'll be here this weekend but then again I know it can happen at any time. If nothing goes on this weekend, monday she has a dr appointment to check if she's dialated yet.

OMG OMG - I'm so excited! KLove is the only local Christian station here and I've been listening to it non-stop lately. Of course I miss the actual release of Empty Me. But oh man, I'm ecstatic that when I turn on KLove I'll actually be able to hear you - YAY!!!!

(Risa - don't know yet what actually *birthing* a baby is like, but will get back to you in less than 40 days ;).

HstryQT said...

Tawny can't wait to hear news of your sister!

Lori-- "birthing a baby"??
YEE-ouch! The logistics of it all are guaranteed to make it memorable...but the funny thing is the next day? You think it was all worth it. :-) I will be keeping you in my prayers, sending love. It is a happy, exciting time, and we Moms sympathize indeed.

Chris! Congratulations on the single! I hope people embrace it, and make it a big hit for you. It definitely has a message that will speak to an audience.

In a way yes, you are birthing your career, and it will be an awesome ride for you.

Oh man, no stations near me! I would need Detroit Michigan. Any chance it will hit satellite radio soon? I listen to spirit on sirius a lot.

Here are the phone numbers that K-Love lists in the contact section of their website...

General Info: (800) 525-LOVE
Business: (800) 434-8400
Comment Line: (800) 877-5600
Contest Line: (800) 900-1300

I'm assuming the General Info # would be the best for requests. I'm going to try here in a second and I'll let you know how it goes. I know it's weird becuase it's a nationally broadcasted station; I dont know how you get to talk to the DJ on duty. I'm also new to this in the first place. :) (Although I have been on the radio multiple times -- one time talking about how Kenny Chesney's butt is better than Tim McGraw's... that was embarassing. lol)

As Jason mentioned, I got a similar response. Called the General # and she said,

"Oh Chris Sligh? Well they played him this morning with Jon and Sherry. I don't know that he's on regular rotation, but I can suggest it to the DJ for you."

So go use the General #; it should work best :). And btw, he WILL be on regular rotation, lady, you just wait. hehehe

Lori,
That's great! Them knowing who Chris is, not the butt thing haha. ;)

Oh...my...golly! I was just getting ready to get out of my car to go into work when I heard Chris Sligh's voice on K-Love. Then I heard them play "Empty Me". I called everyone I knew to listen. I can't believe how excited I was. The song sounded so awesome on the radio, I had it blaring!! I have listened to it 100 times on MySpace but this was sooo different! Being such a huge fan of Chris's, I was like a proud "mama", I could hardly contain myself. That just totally made my day!! It is just so wonderful to see Chris's dream coming true. You have truly been blessed, Chris, and it is so wonderful to know you are using those talents to do His will. While I will call K-Love every day to request Empty Me, I truly believe that song will speak for itself. It is truly wonderful. Congrats Chris!!!!

Hi!

HUGE fan of "Empty Me". Have a prodigal 15 year old I would love to share these lyrics with, but we don't "my space". Is there any other place to get the lyrics? We live in Greensboro, and would love to have you and your wife for dinner/lunch whatever. You are an inspiration. If you can't visit, please consider praying for Jordan. He has lost his walk, but is too ashamed to admit it. My prayer is for him to pray to be emptied of this world to be filled by Christ...sound familiar? :) We love your work. Be blessed.

I've had just enough of the spotlight
When it burns bright
To know how it gets in the blood
And I've tasted my share of the sweet life
And the wild ride
To know a little is not quite enough

I know how I could stray
And how fast my heart could change

Empty me of the selfishness inside
Every vain ambition and the poison of my pride
And any foolish thing my heart holds to
Lord, empty me of me so I can be filled with you

I've seen just enough of the quick buys
Of the best lies
To know how prodigals can be drawn away

pre-chorus * chorus

'Cause everything is a lesser thing
Compared to you, compared to you
'Cause everything is a lesser thing
Compared to you, so I surrender all!

Amazing track. Was planning worship for this coming weekend and needed a song to go with the theme of selfishness. This fits it to a T!

God bless brother....

Chris, I lost my best friend this week, and I know God's hand is in it. There's no easy way to lost a best friend, of course. But I want you to know for the first two days *every time* I got in my car, "Empty Me of Me" was playing on the radio. I'm a work-at-home mom, so I get in and out of my car a LOT. I probably heard your song ten times or more in two days, and I wondered if everyone else listening to my radio station was being patient while the Lord was ministering so much to me.

The Lord is answering my prayers, and I am grateful to Him.

He is blessing me with your music, and I am also grateful to you. Thank you!

I will be posting your lyrics on my blog. Feel free to let me know if you would prefer I take them down.

Blessings to you and yours!

Heard Empty Me on the radio this morning (very early). LOVED it

Great song. I got on the computer to see if I could find out more about the song. I heard it on WGCA in Qincy Illinois

I heard this song for the first time today, and all I can say is, "How did you get in my head?" This is my prayer as I start every day, that God would empty me of all the ugly things within me (selfishness, pride, etc.) and replace them with humility, kindness, and most of all, His divine love.

I can hardly wait to get this cd. We don't have any stations playing it in this area (YET!), so I'll have to be content with my stream from FL for now. God bless your ministry!

Hey Chris! Loved you on American Idol. I heard Empty Me a couple weeks ago and I've had in stuck in my head and I've been wondering who sang it. Then I did a search and found your blog! Well done! Keep em comin!

Chris, as a Minister for our Lord, I listen to K-Love at work, on my way home, to work, and most anywhere I go. I watched you on American Idol, rooted for you to win, and, you did. Your song is one of the most outstanding witnesses that has come through the new Christian music of today. It is a testimony that comes from the heart of a true believer, and blesses the believer everytime they hear it, I know, because I am one of those believers.

May God continue to keep you and bless you in this ministry.

And yes, Denver Klove plays your song, and there are many who hear me singing it with my windows down right along wtih you.

Thank you brother, God has worked a mighty work in you, and you will be mightly blessed.

Your Brother in Christ Jesus, Tim
