And according to the website that offer is done today, May 11 at 11:59 pm! So jump on it quickly!

Got so many appreciative comments from kids and their parents today after the kids got the CD's in Bible class. One parent told me they had already bought it and how much they have been enjoying it. And of course I got all sorts of questions about how it all came about,so I got to talk about the blog and the upcoming picnic and concert...working on the CS picnic can make you a semi-celebrity. LOL It's a good Mother's Day. Hope all you moms out there are having a good one as well. Risa

p.s. One more reminder that the Nashville concert will be announced to the general public after today, so if you are going to the picnic on July 5th, even if you haven't made your picnic reservation yet, be sure to get your concert ticket to avoid disappointment. The venue size is limited.

Carrie said...

I'll be sure to tell everyone to buy a cd!

Hey guys... I bought my tickets to the concert. Still have to buy my tickets to the actual picnic, I'm just waiting for my friend to book our hotel room first. She's doing it now... I can't find a cheap flight... they're $350!!! So I might just take a 16 hr bus ride. Yikes. So whoever is keeping up with the list of picnic tickets, mine +1 is on its way. I'm trying to figure it paypal would be better than just sending a check. Probably.

Rosalee,
Ok the game is on! I love a challenge. Tomorrow I plan to meet Henry Winkler (The Fonz) and I am taking my copy of Chris's new Cd to give to him. Who is next on your list??

I will be taking a few copies of Chris's CD on the road to Nashville with me. You never know who we might run into....

Chris~happy anniversary to you and Sarah.
Also, have safe journeys on your voyage to El Salvador. We will all be praying for your safe return.

Girls -

It's going to be very hard to top Bill Clinton. And it's not a race. This time it's a game of strategy - to get it into the hands of the famous, but it must be an appropriate candidate.

However, when I do hand it out, I'll be pulling it out of this baby:

So, top that!! HAHAHAHAHA!!

Appropriate candidate? Anyone who likes good music!

And I'm sure those with right wing leanings would disagree that it's hard to top Bill. : )

Love the bag!!!

Chris, don't know if you have internet access on your trip, but if so, safe travels and I hope you find it very fulfilling, as I'm sure you will.

rosalee said...

Folks -
Don't forget to watch Ace Young on "Bones" tonight.

chamilton said...

One of my copies is autographed. I've had it for a week now, still listen to it everyday, still love it. I tried to make the picnic in TN but don't think that I can make it work...so I am going to drive the much shorter three hours to Jenks Oklahoma. I am sooo excited. I hope I can find it. Thank Goodness for mapquest!!!!

bmorebamma said...

yea i saw ace youg and brandon rodgers, on bones . they killed ace off. that was a crime in it's self. they killed off the cutie. lol

EmilyBoo said...

Rosalee, where did you get that bag? And the ChrisSligh.com shirt... I want one but I thought they weren't available yet?

Unknown said...

Chris, just got my $5 album yesterday. It sounds amazing. The last song, Vessel, is wonderfully worshipful. The music is a blessing. Stay in the Lord and stay in the music He has blessed you with!

Anonymous said...

So Chris...
Ante up who is going to win Idol this year? My bet is DC, me thinks he is the most marketable of the final three.

rosalee said...

Emilyboo -

The shirt was an early perk - a thanks for running the fansite. They should be available soon for everyone. Keep and eye on the Chrissligh.com Store.

The bag I had custom made through Snaptotes.com. Take a look at the site. You need a high resolution pic for it. I thought it would be good advertising to be walking around with this bag. I just received it over the weekend.

Bmorebamma -

I had almost forgotten that Brandon was going to be on Bones, too. They both did very well. When Ace got knocked off, it reminded me of something Jenlar said on this blog about Chris about a year ago(June 19th 2007). We were guessing what kind of big offer he had just gotten in the entertainment/music business, and Jenlar had suggested that Chris was going to play a dead body on CSI. I was laughing about that one for days...

Thanks for the tip, Chris. Let's see, GirlyGirl loves a bargain, GirlyGirl wants to support Chris. Will she sell her soul to musicchristian? must go search her soul....

Hey everyone,
Have you given thought to what Chris is gonna be going through when he returns to Hollywood (for AI finale)straight from the Compassion trip in El Salvador?? From such poverty to immediate immersion in extravagance. If he looks a bit pensive, we'll know why.
Well, here's to Chris and all the that the Lord has for him!

Hey Chris -

Picked up a copy of the new album last week - just been slack in getting by to comment. Couple of quick observations:

1) "Running Back" was always my favorite of the Demo's you put up on myspace, and the Studio version of "Arise" is simply perfection. This needs to be released as a single.

2) Love the little "U2" type intro you added to "Let you Know".

3) "I'm Clean" would make a great 2nd single.

4) I don't know squat about production - but the sound on this album is incredible. Ought to win some kind of award - really sounds great with headphones.

I could go on about each song - so many good ones. You should be very proud -

Peace -

I'm not sure who is in charge of the picnic tickets but I bought mine and my friends ticket last night -- and forgot to give my name! Whoops. It went through with my regular e-mail, so I'm hoping it made it obvious that it was me?

I bought my plane ticket last night, we have our hotel booked and bought the picnic/concert tickets. Woohoo!

HstryQT said...

Ill make sure Risa knows Carrie! :) So glad you've got your ticket and are definitely coming!!

risalea said...

Thanks for the heads up, Carrie. Glad you got everything squared away!

I imagine it will be a bit of culture shock for Chris...mission trips to less fortunate areas are like that. But he is grounded enough to know that the Hollywood stuff is pixie dust and and what's real for 99.9% of the world is a whole different thing. He'll have much to think about, that's for sure.

I'm just wondering how he's gonna' do with jet lag. Good grief, my CA trip about did me in. LOL

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. Mine's been pretty amazing so far. Take care, Risa

Happy Birthday Audra!

Hey DJ -
For some reason your last post planted this song in my head, and now I can't get it out!

http://www.last.fm/music/Simon%2B%2526%2BGarfunkel/_/Why+Don't+You+Write+Me

And speaking of new topics, how about this one:

Since arriving in Nashville, Chris has co-written with many people. Who would you like to see him co-write with next?

Personally, I would like to see him co-write with Paul Simon, because of the gospel nature of some of Paul Simon's songs, and the thoughtfulness of his lyrics. This will probably never happen though, because Paul Simon is too big.

Okay, who's next?

risalea said...

I know Chris isn't in to singing country music himself, but I think he'd write some killer songs for those in that genre. I'd like to see him pair up with, I don't know, maybe Rivers Rutherford who wrote "When I Get Where I'm Going" and "Stealing Cinderella."

Ralph McTell,
Aside from "the Ferryman:
http://www.cowboylyrics.com/lyrics/mctell-ralph/the-ferryman-11075.html

He also has written songs like "FATHER FORGIVE THEM"

Jesus was a man who kept the company of men
Till he got betrayed by one of them
And surely that must have been the biggest sin
But in his final hour, he even forgave him
And what he asked you then, well I now ask you too
Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.

For they too have their cross to bear
In your love, please let them share
For Jesus would have understood
And brought them home to you.
Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.

Most of us are troubled and we cannot understand
Anything that doesn't fall into our scheme or plan
But it's we have made the rules, and it's we must share the blame
For it's we who make outsiders, and it's we who give them names
And while we're praying for them, what we really ought to do
Is say, Father, forgive them, but please, forgive us too.
