Indiana Jones should've stayed in retirement

I went saw Indiana Jones 4 last night.

Not good. They shoulda kept this puppy in development for about 10 more years.

I was bored the entire movie...and this is coming from a guy who actually found some entertainment value in Idiocracy.

Seriously, see this movie only to help Spielberg, Lucas and Ford fatten their retirement funds.  It's all it's good for.

On the other hand last week, I saw Iron Man  and it was freaking fabulous!  Go see that one today!  Well, tonight after you get off work.

Oh no! Bad reviews for Indy. Nonetheless, Im taking Danny to see it for fathers day in two weeks. Hes a huge Indy fan and itll be his only chance to see an Indy film in the theater. Im not creative enough to come up with antoher fathers day present! :)

I'm so dissappointed. I am a huge Indy fan. Maybe I'll wait for it come out on DVD. If it's that bad, it will come out fast.

Oh, don't get me wrong...this is gonna be in the theaters for a while...it's gonna sell a lot of tickets just like the bad Star Wars (episodes 1-2 - 3 was awesome!). I'm just warning you...you need to see it, but it's pretty bad.

I'll wait until it is available on NetFlix - love Netflix!

Does anyone know why AI and iTunes did not offer David Cook's rendition of "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face"

Sounds like a good way to spend this rainy weekend. I'll go see it. Were the special effects as good as I heard they were? Was it as disappointing as the last Pirate movie was?
It will be a good weekend to go to the movies and eat a ton of popcorn...yum....

Good morning Cathy, is it just you and me on the blog this morning? Ha-Ha

Have a great 3-day weekend.

chamilton said...

I never have seen any of the Indy movies so I am too diappointed to hear that the new one is not so good. I am soo excited that I only have to wait six more days until I get to come see you in Tulsa. I was hopeful for a preformance on the Idol but liked the joke and it made my kiddos say "Look Mom It's Chris." Because now you are on a first name basis at my house. So I will be reading the blog and looking foward to Thursday the 29th.

Cathy Storms said...

Morning Nique...Hope you have a good weekend also. The weather is pretty crappy though...

Crazy weather here - I was just told that there were tornados in Riverside, and it snowed in Orange County! I heard on the radio this morning March AFB was hit by tornados too. Here in Spring Valley it's windy and cold and looks like heavy rain any minute.

I have to share my "Sligh" story with you Chris. Last year a man I work with came by my desk while I was playing your HPF CD and he got so excited and wanted to know who it was. I told him that you were on AI but he never watches TV. Anyway, I ordered him a HPF CD and he loved it so I ordered him you new CD and gave it to him yesterday with the autograph. I thought he was going to cry. He was so excited. Today he told me how much he loved it. He really loved the autograph. I got a big hug from him thanking me and you for the CD. I love seeing peoples reaction to the CD and how much they love it.

Oh man, we were thinking of seeing that this weekend. We'll save the gas and movie money and wait for Batman. My husband loves Indy movies but he can wait for HBO. We're trusting you.

I have yet to hear a single person say that the Indiana Jones movie hasn't sucked. Everyone who was hyped up to go hated it. So yeah, it'll sell a lot of tickets and then everyone will be wishing for a refund.

Anyway, I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately everyone. Lots of stuff has been going on here.

risalea said...

Oh, that's too bad, but not uncommon for a sequel. Gaylon has been wanting to go see "Ironman" and I've been begging off, but a friend gave us movie tickets and a dinner gift card for our anniversary, so it looks like from your review, I'll have to give up the shameless chick flicks "Made of Honor" (yes, I know it got panned, but love to look at Patrick Dempsey) and "What Happens In Vegas" to take that one in.

Are you still performing in FL tomorrow?

Anonymous said...

Hmmm...I'm glad you liked Iron Man, that movie is the shiznit...But I remember reading an older entry about how you didn't really like comic book movies...except the new Bat Man...you strike me as a comic book guy...

Carrie said...

You know what's funny is I'm not really into action movies at all but I'm obsessed with the Transformers movie. I know people hate on Michael Bay but that movie made my life. Therefore, the sequel better not suck.

gdahimself said...

Prior to release of this movie, the only time I heard about it was an article in People. Harrison Ford, when asked when it was going to be made, complained that if developement takes much longer he would too old to make this movie.
Apparently, they all under estimated that the moment came and went some time ago.

Maybe this can be more entertaining than the movie: http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Leaf.aspx?cn=536&d=519

We went to see Prince Caspian, and my daughters mentioned wanting to see the Indiana Jones movie. They'll be able to talk their Dad into taking them, but I'll save us the $9 and stay home. The Narnia movie was great though!

Just a quick, random request if you all don't mind but could you all please pray for my family?

Today was my dog's birthday (she died this April) and would have been 8. It's really hard on all of us to look at the date and realize that it's her birthday but she's no longer with us. That dog has helped me get through so much back during high school and my early college years. I just miss her so much. I have been doing so well accepting everything but today I'm just really bummed.

No way, Chris! I thought the new one was full of the light-hearted fun that all of the Indy films have. It's meant to be a popcorn flick--you can't invest too much of yourself into the characters. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

But you're right about Iron Man. It is pretty rad.

Hope you had a great time in Florida...

Saw the youtube link from Zellwood that Rosalee put up. God gave Chris the right words to say. May the Lord be with the Chapman family as they go through the next days, weeks and months of the grieving and healing process.

Happy Memorial Day, all! Let's take a moment today to remember those who gave their lives so we might live ours in freedom.

OK, so I've got to tell y'all this story. I sent my sister, Cindy (who is coming to the picnic from Ohio on her way to stay 2 weeks in LR) one of the $5 CD's I got from musicchristian.com. (btw, I could kick myself for not ordering more of those...I got 10, but I am finding more and more folks to share them with!) Anyway, she gets her CD on Sat. and calls me this morning. "You didn't tell me he was a Christian singer. I really like this!" Huh? I sent her to Chris's myspace site, I know I told her that in the many times I have talked up Chris to her. This just proves that family never listens. LOL She is so excited she shared it with some close friends of hers who are also from the South, living in Ohio, and they might come for the picnic. So spread the love, people! That's one way a fanbase is built.

OK, off to do laundry and get the bark spread out in my flower beds. I'm sure my neighbors are getting tired of looking at my throusand and one bags out there.

Take care, Risa

Rosalee~Thanks for posting the prayer from Chris for the Chapman family. It was really beautiful and touching. My thoughts and prayers are with them in this very difficult time.

Chris, I concur. The movie put me in mortal danger of waking the rest of the folks in the theater with my snoring. On the other hand, Iron Man was pretty good. Great special effects too.

The 730 Day Fast said...

I second that motion. I hated it.

Carianne said...

Everyone I know who's seen it said it was really good... Do you think I'd like it better since I've never seen the original movies? (you know, nothing to compare it to LOL)

But seriously, Iron Man is A W E S O M E ! ! ! My friends and I are actually trying to decide if we want to see Indiana Jones tomorrow, or see Iron Man for the second time! haha

As for the new Star Wars, I agree with you that 3 was awesome... but I also really like 1! (aside from lil Anakins horrible acting).. but yeah, 2 was terrible.

Carianne said...

oh, and Chris I saw you at the finale last week. I was there where everyone was doing interviews after the show. I saw you signing autographs and taking pics and stuff, but unfortunately I was nowhere near the front of the group so I couldn't get near you! Sadness!

Chris is here in Tulsa tonight! I have a dilemma though. It rained Tuesday, so my daughter's t-ball game got rescheduled to tonight, right when Chris is here. I want to go to both!

risalea said...

I am so sad. I had hoped to make the drive up from AR, and I ended up being scheduled for a workshop the last two days. Hope you get a chance to see him there! Risa

Family won out. It was my dd's last t-ball game of the season, so I went to it. I'm glad I did - she got to play 3rd base, 1st base, and pitcher tonight instead of her usual left field position. She was so happy; I'd have hated to miss it. Chris, come back here again!

dgmommie,
You're a MUCH better mommie than I.
Id'a bugged outta there without a second thought!

Know that God WILL reward you and you WILL get to see Chris someday.

chamilton said...

dg mommie and all,
I drove to Tulsa from KS to see Chris and although I am happy that you went to your child's game, the concert was AWESOME!!!!!!! So worth the drive, the Oklahoma constant turnpike tolls, and the road constuction. We got to the Riverwalk @4:00 for the 7:00 show because I wanted to be sure to get good seats and we did but because we were there so earky we also got to meet Chris. What a nice guy he was so sweet. It's strange but I feel proud of him like I would for one of my children or close friend that is doing something so cool. I took many pictures and his drummer posed for a fairy picture for me thee whole night was just so much fun and Chris did a wonderful show and hung out for autoghaphs after. Just really one of the coolest things I've done. Take care all....

I went with my daughter & grandkids to the Tulsa summer concert to see Chris. What a nice, sweet guy you are. I should of asked you when I had the chance...Is Simon as nasty in person as he is on the show. I have to say I do not watch American Idol because he is so just to rude & nasty. However I am now a new fan of yours! You are great!!

Yes, I've found that the most pre-promoted film is almost always the worst. And Indy 4 has definitely been hyped-up -- it was marketed by Mars, Dr Pepper, Kelloggs...the list goes on. I personally hven't seen it though.

Five weeks and approximately two hours from now we will be meeting at Centennial Park for an awesome afternoon of fun and fellowship, followed by an evening of great music. If you haven't signed up yet, do it now!! Click the picnic link on the front page of the blog for all the info!

It's hard to believe it's the last day of May. Hope y'all have a great Saturday! Chris, safe travels back to CA! risa

p.s. That is a darling pic, Lori. He's passed that newborn stage and has grown into that next fun phase. Cutie patootie!

Carrie, I will pray for you. I ask you to pray for me, also. I am on crutches due to a skin ulcer on my foot. This is really difficult for me emotionally (I am a wimp about my foot being hurt because I was in an accident when I was 3 that resulted in skin grafts).

Also! My husband hates going to Traverse City during the Cherry Festival (the population quadruples), but he says we can go and see Chris! So, Chris, I'll be the woman with crutches. unless I can give them up by then.

Hey guys,
I flipping through the channels tonight and I saw Chris on The Kitchen Sink. It is on the gospel music channel and tomorrow Hour of Power with Chris singing is on. So just thought I would put that out there just in case you didn't know but you guys are a pretty on group of folks. So hope you are all having a great weekend.

P.S. The Kitchen Sink with Chris is showing quite a few times so there are many times to catch it.

rechecked the guide on my direct tv and I was wrong(glad my husband isn't reading this) Chris and the Hour of Power is on 6/08. Sorry about the mix up.

Why wait for it to air?

You can see the performance of "Run On for a Long Time" from The Kitchen Sink on Chrissligh.com:
(Chris Sligh and Kevin Max Duet)

http://www.chrissligh.com/Videos/tabid/521/Default.aspx

I gave you the direct link. If you are entering through front end of Chrissligh.com, click on the "Interact" tab on top and then click on "Videos".

There was also an interview portion that followed the song. You can see that here:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=sBPVt7INxv4

chamilton said...

Rosalee,
This is not the duet with Kevin Max, this is Chris by himself he is singing Arise and Empty Me and then there is an interview after. I think this was the first time that it aired. He is promoting Running Back to You. If I am mistaken sorry. I just wanted everybody to catch him as much as we can.

Susan,
Thank you! I have been praying for you, too. I forgot I had even put that message up here since it was quite a few days back (May 23).

Chris,
You should be proud to know that when my friends suggested seeing Indiana Jones, I accidently blurted out "NO, IT SUCKS!" in the middle of the ticket box office. Whoops. Everyone in line probably decided not to see that movie after that one haha. Gold star for me.

1 month and 2 days until I break for Nashvegas!

rosalee said...

Candy -

Thanks. It must be a new episode that I haven't been informed about.
I don't get the Gospel Music Channel in NY. Hopefully someone will put it up on Youtube.

Ok - I found the ad.

I brought a new fan aboard! The week the CD came out, I emailed my church's music ministers to recommend it to them (they are a husband/wife team in charge of organizing and practicing with all praise teams, choirs, accompianists etc. for 6 worship services per week. It must be a busy job.) Yesterday she came up to me and told me she bought it for her husband's birthday, which was a couple weeks ago. She said he has had it in his car listening to it ever since, and she hasn't had a chance to hear it yet, but apparently he loves it. Yay!!! So if sheet music comes out for any of Chris' songs, it's likely we'll be hearing/singing some of them in our church!
