First Week Sales!

We came in a little under 4,100!

Doesn't sound like a ton, I know, but for the CCM market right now it is pretty great!  We sold a ton on iTunes, too, which, again, for the Christian market is a great thing.

Just so there's no freaking out...in the Christian market, people find out about the album with the single going up the charts.  The higher the single, the higher the number of plays, the higher the number of impressions, the higher the sales.  So, for having a #18 single, it is pretty freaking great!
CCM has no centralized media...sure, there are websites that do great, but nothing like tv and mainstream radio marketing can do.  Usually, people find CDs as they wander through the Christian book store OR (as I mentioned above) hear a song on Christian radio, find out who it is and buy it.

This is going to be a slow build and I'm glad...no Idol has ever come off and really done a grassroots thing: get in a van, travel the country, play, play, play, play and connect.  That is what I'm gonna do.  My label is pumped (it's their highest debut ever!) and distribution is pumped!  Now, the more shows I play the more you'll see sales trickle in.  Hopefully Empty Me can reach top 5 on the charts and then you'll see more sales than even this week.  It's seriously all about the songs!

Thanks to everyone so far who bought the album!  Now, tell a friend and let's sell some records!

I did my part and bought the day it came out on Itunes. :) I've told all my friends to do the same.

Good luck! The album rocks.

Chris, it's great to hear from you! How is your trip going? At the Ratliff house, we are doing our part in supporting the GNP of the country with our purchase of Chris Sligh CD's. (Yes, had to buy some more at $5...who can pass up a bargain like that?!) And we are spreading the word. : )

I hope they get a shot of you when you are at AI...every little bit of publicity helps! Take care, Risa

Oh, I am going to Memphis tomorrow to see Amanda. She's been feeling better...I'll give her a hug from the Fro Patro.

I think it's pretty awesome!

I also received my concert tickets in the mail today for the July 5th show. It was really exciting!!!

One more thing; My friend ordered 2 CDs pre-order and she's from Montreal... Well, she still hasn't gotten them yet. Maybe it's just slow because I know Canadian Post can be a drag but if she doesn't get them next week then I don't know what is going on.

I will take your word for it that it's a good number. I sure never got close to selling that many books! (I'm not saying how many, either, so don't ask. LOL)

I got your CD last week when you were at Westgate Mall! It's the only CD I have in my car! I'm telling all my friends about it!

Congrats Chris! Your voice and Michael Johns stand out as my favorites from the past few seasons. Glad to see your album doing so well in its genre. Hopefully Michael can follow in your footsteps as he tries to get his post-idol career off the ground. Again, congrats on hard work paying off!

I have bought two copies and plan on searching my local area for more. The two Wal mart stores that I have been to have both sold out so even though I am disappointed about not being able to get more CD's, I am excited that they are sold out... I am coming to see you in Oklahoma on the 29th. I am so excited. I called the contact number from the website to get some information since I am from Kansas and I will be traveling to get there. They are expecting a standing room only crowd and said to try to get there early and that you may be signing autographs after the show.So now I am really excited.

Excellent sales news, Chris!

Regarding the touring, it sounds like a cool approach, but do you have any concerns about being ridiculed for playing in malls, wing joints, etc.?

Any idea which song will be your second single? There's so many good ones I can't decide which one you're likely to choose.

Way to go!

Great news Chris, thanks for sharing with us!

I just received from Amazon AI Season 6 Finale. It's a 2 disc dvd set. It wasn't what I thought it would be and was just a little disappointed, however, after watching the 2nd disc I was happy because you show up in it quite a bit.

It sounds like a great first week. I'm still spreading the word too, as I'm sure is everyone else here, so I know sales will continue to grow!

Attention fellow fro-patro-ers! Some of you will be receiving an email from me about my participation in relay for life. I hope some of you will consider sponsoring me with a small donation. If you can't or don't want to, please disregard the message and I won't email you anymore! Thank you!

Good luck. I certainly purchased an album. However, you share a few songs that you already released with your band, so I already owned those songs. I hope you can make it to southern California sometime soon.

Great album man. The lyrics are personal, transparent and inspired. Definetely an encouragement - hopefully your tour will bring you out to the Northwest at some point.
