New Song

I just put up a song I wrote with Jason Walker on myspace.com/chrisslighproductions.

It's not what you're expecting, I promise. That's all I'll say.

But...I think it may be on my next album, strangely enough.

Song is called "Hands Up"

Okay now that I've listened to it 40 million times and still haven't gotten over how great it is (and usually it takes me a few listens to really LOVE a song so A+ for you)...

Is this performed with Jason or just co-written with him?

Just co-written. I did everything on there.

Wow that was different. Were you two drinking caffeinated drinks? I like it a lot. I have always been a fan of CD's that change it up. Where would you put that one in set list. Now I love ballads but some times after a few I need a good slap just for general purposes. Some songs just seem fun and that one I could see Jon having fun playing.

I really, really love this song. I could so see DJ table dancing to this song:). No seriously this would be a great song to see live.

Hey Chris,

Totally fun.

If The Spouse wasn't already asleep, we'd be having ourselves a jive.

Sounds like you were feeling good !

Keep writing on happy days.

A winner - hands down!

Wow...I'm actually a little surprised that everyone loves it so much. I was expecting some resistance!

Haha...I think it'll be a great opener to the set.

That's why we threw in the 2nd line of the 1st verse:

"This is an introduction without someone to meet"

A little tongue in cheek thing.

Anyway, glad you guys like it.

I'm throwing another new song up in a few min.

Chris,

I guess from the outsider it sounds like we are just blindly approving of whatever you do, but you know us better than that. After hearing Jason when ya'll played in Nashville, I completely get the sound of this song and where it comes from. He is influencing your sound a little and and probably vice versa. Don't misunderstand, I will always love your original stuff, always, but I'm beginning to see that change is good. Hey, I can be flexible, see?

Anyway, I loved it, I thought it would work in the Pop genre as well. Guessing that was the intent?

Anyway, keep crankin em out!

I really like "Hands Up". Great one to open a set with. I like bouncing up and down at concerts (I NEVER table dance!) and I could really bounce to this! David Crowder Band has a lot of that.
The change at the end is really cool too. How soon are you incorporating this into your concerts??

ANOTHER new song? YAY!

But Chris, are you working too hard??
Pace yourself, man. Take a nap and watch some Price Is Right or something. :o)

Chris,
Allow me to be the first to say I don't love Hands Up. However, I can definitely see it growing on me after multiple listens, as Loaded Gun did. Loaded Gun was very jarring to me at first, but it is now among my 3 favorites on RBTY (along with Something Beautiful And Vessel.) I don't really see hands Up becoming a favorite for me, but I wouldn't turn it off. :)

My 14 year old son just walked by, paused, and then said "That's pretty good!" not once but twice without me saying a thing to him. I think it's going to be a hit, Chris!

Great concert song, Chris. Speaking of concerts, did you hear that Sanjaya got to sing on stage with Stevie Wonder last week?
