I'm Ready

An older song that has been around for a long while, will be on the next album, I'm about 99.9% sure.  Especially with the arrangement I've worked on...everyone seems to be excited about this one...

Well they BETTER be excited since it's one of your best, most beautiful songs EVER. Can you tell it's a favorite?? I've always loved I'm Ready and I'm really glad to hear that it'll (99.9%) be on the album. *Happy dance*

It was almost exactly a year ago, on June 16th, that you posted the lyrics to this beautiful song on the blog in your tribute to Amanda.
(the first anniversary of her passing is on the 15th, and I'm sure Tammy, her mom, would appreciate everyone's prayers as she gets through that difficult day)

I always think of her when I hear it, and didn't think I could like it more, but love the new arrangement.

It definitely has earned a place on the album.

Now every time I hear this song, I cry. I listened to it when my grandpa died and then was reminded of it again when Amanda left us. Now I admit that it doesn't take much to make me cry. I'm a pretty sensitive girl. But it takes a LOT for a song to make me cry.

It's beautiful. And now here I am holding back tears again, listening to it. Haha

BTW, I sing awesome background vocals with you on this.

And I KNOW that is NOT the Blogger Girls I hear laughing!

Um, well it might be Risa, it might be!
Ok, so yes that noise you heard in the middle of the night last night was the incredible thunder and lightening (sp?) storm we had in AL last night, Trussville, AL to be exact! Seriously horrible storm, trees down everywhere this a.m. no power last night-made for some hot sleeping, or not sleeping I should say!

Beautiful day today-getting up to 90+! Good times in the deep South!

No T-storms here but yeah the 90+ temps are definitely here. Looking at least 100 by Sat. Can't, no that's don't want to imagine doing this without AC. I think I would have gone to a hotel if I had been you. I can't stand it without AC and a fan.

Chris,
I've been listening to your "productions" songs and was just wondering if on "Compassion (Change the World)" you specifically tried to write a song for Compassion International to use or for you to use in your concerts when you talk about the organization. Because it's PERFECT for both purposes.

Catching Up is the type of music I love the MOST. Folksy acoustic guitar, pure simple lead vocals, sweet BGV's (even if you didn't use Risa for them!). Easily the best song I've EVER heard from you.

And "I'm Ready". Very worshipful, inspiring. A tears streaming down the face masterpiece. I can't quit listening to these songs. I am ever grateful for your talent. God bless all those who advanced you to the limelight and may He forever help you endure it. :o)

DJ,
I'm glad you were SAFE in the heat and dark, at least.

Coming on here with a word of thanksgiving. My oldest son had an accident this morning on the interstate, trying to change lanes, realized he had a vehicle in his blind spot, overcorrected and flipped and landed in the median. Miraculously, it ended rightside up, his only injury was a cut on his ear, and no one else was involved. I feel very blessed, but also quite shaken, thinking about what could have happened. He was not wearing his seatbelt, which makes it even more of a miracle. (and he knows better!) I told him the Lord must have awesome plans for him to be able to walk away from something like that.

Praise God your son is OK Risa! Truly a blessing and a story he'll be telling for the rest of his life. Amazing.

Thank you, Lori! I still can't believe it. I was on my way to work out when I found out, and I just had to come back to the house and lay down!

Cathy Storms said...

Risa~Wow..The lord was watching over him today. I imagine you were very shaken up. Thank god he is ok.

DJ in AL said...

Risa.....awesome plans indeed! So grateful he is ok.

My "baby" turned 19 yesterday and I'm scratching my head trying to figure out where the past 19 years went! He spent all night (on his B'day) and all day in 90+ heating helping his best friend and his Mom move today. Yep, think he's gonna turn out ok!

Random comment, I heard Vessel again on the way home from work today. I always want to roll my window down and say, "Hey, hear that song? I know the guy singing it!!" I still get such a kick out of hearing Chris on the radio!

Anyway, seeking shelter in the air conditioned comfort of my living room, currently 96 degrees! 96 at 5:39 how does that make sense?

Sending feelings of gratitude for all of our sons this evening from a hot and humid DJ in AL!

Hey guys, remember Josiah Leming from AI last year? I check his mom's blog every once in a while to see how she is doing. I checked today, and saw a post saying that she was admitted to ICU the other day. I looked at the comments on the entry and saw someone had posted that Sharon passed away this afternoon. Josiah and his family will be in my prayers.

Risa, praise God that your son is ok after his accident!

How sad about Josiah's Mom.

Risalea,
Am so glad the accident had that outcome.
Can so hear you on the 'had to come back to the house to lay down'. Breath deeply.
Whomever said that 'to have a child is to let your heart walk around outside of your body' knew about having to go lay down from time to time.
About to go hug my nearly 16 ( and so almost driving ... ) son, and sending you a heartfelt hug.
Shalom

Thank you, sweet friends.

That is sad about Josiah's mom. I read her blog a few times last year. She endured much suffering during her illness, but was a fighter to the end, as evidenced by her last blogs. I worry about him...I always thought of him as a kid forced to grow up too fast due to his mom's illness and circumstances.

Chris, now I understand why you got to see cousin Terry and Luke Wilson per your tweet...enjoyed the CMT music awards for video, but did anyone else feel the ewwwww factor with Taylor Swift singing "Pour Some Sugar on Me" with Def Leppard?

Can't wait to see the nominations Chris and Clint are gonna' get in the months ahead!

Risa,

So glad your son is all right.

God is good.

Amen! Thanks, Chris.

I heard about Josiah's mom. So sad... I hope Josiah is doing okay, poor kid. I know he was emotional on the show so this has to be horrible for him.

And like I said on twitter, I'm glad your son is okay, Risa!

risalea said...

Thank you, Carrie!

A very nice arrangement, Chris.

Risa -
Your son was very lucky. I'm glad everything turned out well.
