If Here Comes a CMA,
Can a Grammy be far away?
But first comes the Dove
Text often with love
DOVE CSLIGH--72648!

And adding a personal note of sadness at the untimely passing of Natasha Richardson at such a young age. I loved her work, and one of our favorite family movies was "Parent Trap". It was one of those my kids loved to watch over and over when they were younger. She will be missed.

Wow, that's amazing!

Happy 1st Birthday Teddy! Amelia turned 13 months today and finally took some steps! She walked 1-2 steps between my sister and I a few times.

Happy Birthday to Teddy! My how time flies - I can remember, like it was just yesterday when Teddy's mom announced to us that she was pregnant. Teddy's mom, cherish each day, they grow up so fast.

Thanks so much for the birthday wishes for Teddy! His birthday was yesterday, he got to meet Chris again today (and show off his walkin skills) and tomorrow is his party with over 20 friends coming! It's been a busy week!

Thank you for the birthday well wishes :).

OK now for my freak out about how awesome Chris' show was tonight!
My friends' flew in from Virginia & got to come to the show, along with myself & my friend Kelley. We got to see Chris before the show and Danny brought Teddy up so that he could see Chris again and show off his walking skills (as previously mentioned). The church Chris was performing at was literally 2 miles straight down from our home, so it was quite convenient :).
Had a nice chat with Chris and then headed in for the show. Meredith Andrews is AH-mazing and I'm going to buy her album ASAP.
Chris was awesome and was hilarious without the band -- he was funny and paused to talk about the bass & drum solos that should have been occurring but weren't :). It was a fantastic set -- I was thrilled to get to hear Chris sing Here Comes Goodbye in person (since I wasn't at Risa's show :). Although he did call me a sinner when I "whooped" after he asked who listens to Rascall Flatts. tee hee hee. Silly Chris.
The best part of the night was his (semi) debut of I Am, his first single from his upcoming album. I could've bet money on him performing I'm Ready, but nope! He proved me wrong! I Am is beautiful and I can't wait for him to (possibly?) put it up as a demo.

** Chris is it ok if I post the video I (snuck &) took of part of I Am?? I won't post it without your permission, since it's such a new song**

Anyway, I love I Am and love that it'll be the first single.

I got all emotional when Chris performed Empty Me. The audience applauded mid-song when he hit the end of the chorus. You could tell just how much it had touched so many people. Everyone was singing along. I'm well aware of how popular the song is -- but just seeing how people were reacting to it really touched me and I was just sitting in my seat crying. I'm such a sap. But really, I felt like a proud sibling or something. I immediately ran out to the autograph table to ramble to Chris about how proud I was of him. It's just great to have been here from the beginning, Idol auditions beginning I mean, and to see how far he's come and how many lives he's touched. I can't get over it. I'm just so proud!

OK I think I'm done now :). This is more like a whole blog. I'm sorry. But I'm excited :).. and proud. As I said.

Off to prepare for Teddy's 1st birthday party tomorrow!
Have a safe flight tomorrow morning Chris!

Lori,

You finally got your hometown Sligh concert, good for you! Looks like you had a good time and that Chris was in good form!

Happy 1st Birthday to Teddy! Hope he can hold on to his youngest Fro Patro member a little longer!

Well, Teddy's the youngest till next month when Clint's new baby is born. : ) Sounds like it was a fabulous show...looking forward to hearing the new song in Alma, AR in a couple of weeks. (and how in the heck they ended up in Alma, I'll never know...it's a little town, but not far from Fayetteville, so they'll probably draw U of A students). Have a fun party and thanks for the details of your evening!
