Remedy Drive

I try to keep my music recommendations to a minimum so that when I do tell you that something is great, that you believe that I'm serious.

Remedy Drive is one such band that you should take me seriously on.  They're a new band for Word Records and they are one of the best new bands I've heard in a while.  To me, they're a mixture of Switchfoot, piano-based groups like Keane, Coldplay and Jack's Mannequin, with some Relient K influence in there, too.

They're a brothers group that is incredible and Ian Eskilin produced this record to a tee.

Check it out August 26.

Being on Word would suggest their a CCM outfit.

Yes! Their song "Daylight" is awesome; you can download it for free as a Lifefest site promo at

Thanks for the recommendation!

Now why do you find it weird that Nicole Richie would know who you are?

Some things are priceless, and first class after missing a flight and having to fly late....that qualifies!

Hope you have fun at Idol Camp and that your inspiration gives wings to some young people's dreams.

If Cathy gets up to where you are, please give her a huge hug from us.

Take care, Risa

Sitting by Nicole Ritchie. How cool. Of course she would know who you are. Who wouldn't. I wore my new pink "Sligh" shirt to the car show yesterday and as I walked by people, I would hear them say, "She's got on a Chris Sligh shirt". Very cool....All the more reason to have a California date on your tour....

I'm listening to their myspace now. I really like Daylight! I tried downloading it at the lifelight site and it played, but I can't figure out how to find the song on my computer?

I have something in common w/ Nicole Richie ... I think ... were you by chance in the Dalles/Ft. Worth airport yesterday? I am a fan and sort of freaked out, and we were in a hurry to get to our gate, but I so wish I would have gotten a pic w/ you and my *then sleeping on my shoulder* 7 month-old. :)

Jack's Mannequin!!!!

Never met Nicole, but I've met Joel a few times and he was really nice to me. The first time, I was in a sound check with another band, he came up and introduced himself to me and shook my hand.

It was great to read your review, especially since a couple of the members of Remedy Drive used to live down the street from us (back when they were just called "Remedy"). I guess that's my new "claim to fame." They even gave us a CD. I guess I should have had it autographed. They were great neighbors, by the way.

They have really come a long way. Their new album is unbelievable. I remember watching them play back when they were in highschoo/junior high. That was back when they were just Zach Attack. They were great back then and have just gotten better over the years.
