Phil Stacey - April 29

Hey guys,

I had the joy to be on stage at the Dove Awards last night with Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant, singing Smitty's song.  Joining me on stage was Mandisa and one of my best friends in the world: Phil Stacey.

Phil has his debut label album coming out April 29.  Here are a coupla links for you guys to visit to help promote his record:

Chris,

A Philnatic here to tell you how much I enjoyed your performance. I'm glad to have come to know you through AI, but I think it is so awesome now to see and hear what I feel the show did not let us see. Your voice is awesome. I'll be definitely buying your cd and Phil's. Thank you also for promoting him. I'll be sure to pass on all the info! God bless you.

And carianne, the link below is of the performance.

Chris, have you invited Phil and his family to the picnic? We'd love to have them. It was neat to watch your faces and see how thrilled you were to be there last night, and how you were having fun singing with your good friend.

Thanks for the links.

Yea, Phil and Chris!

I think having taken the routes in two different genres and yet ones perfect for each of you, both you and Phil will be having great success for your albums. Actually, it already seems as if you're both on your way. Much smarter than jumping right into a huge label and trying to get mainstream right away.

Chris,

If I live to be a very old woman, I will never, ever tire of hearing you sing my friend.

The Dove Awards performance was spot on, well done Chris! You looked so completely right on that stage!

And.....Phil and Mandesa sounded wonderful as well!

Rosalee, thanks so much for posting the link!

OH NO I forgot about the Dove awards. I actually fell asleep pretty early last night because I was EXHAUSTED. But most of my projects are done! Just two to go!

Glad MJ put it up!

Hi Chris, I'm the editor of the new skirt! magazine for Greenville... a 15-year-old Charleston-based publication that's new in our green city. We're all about strong, intelligent women (with some feminism and fashion) and each month we have a tongue-in-cheek feature of a man in a skirt called "He's So Original" where you tell your story and have some fun. Would you be our man in a skirt for the June issue? It's perfect, since the editorial theme is "Songbirds". We'd like to do the photo next Tuesday or Wednesday the 29th or 30th. Email me at laura.blume@skirt.com or call 864-357-3428. THANK YOU!

Chris, you totally need to say yes to the "man in the skirt" thing.

Laura,

I'll have you contact my management via email:

mitch@bhccmgt.com

Now, you do realize that I live in Nashville now, right? Would you guys come up here?

I'm interested but we'd have to work out details.

Chris

I loved watching you & Phil sing together. Ya'll were awesome! Please invite Phil & his family to the picnic.
I defintely getting Phil's CD. I have to support the Jacksonville celebrity. Besides, Phill has a beautiful voice. He was great at the fair here in Clay County.

I agree with DJ-- you gotta do the man in a skirt thing, cause dude you are an orignal! I hope it works out that you get to do it.

"Man in a Skirt"--I'm trying to picture it...I think you could pull it off. And in case the legs are a little white, Mary Kay has just come out with a Subtle Tanning Lotion. If you decide to do it, I'll send you a care package. : )

Seriously, sounds like fun and good exposure! (media wise! LOL)

Cathy Storms said...

Oh you totally have to do the Man In A Skirt article. That would be so awesome. I really hope it works out.

Risalea,

Maybe you can get the gig to do the make up.

It's kind of weird that people in the media need to be made up to look attractively natural on camera.

Brenda Covert said...

I didn't get to see ALL of the Dove Awards, but I DID get to see you, Phil, Mandisa, and Amy Grant singing, so that was very exciting. I was hoping to see Mandisa win an award, but maybe next year ...

Laurablumeskirt! I've seen the billboard for the magazine out on Woodruff Road! I didn't know WHAT it was about; I think I'll check it out. I hope Chris can be in it; that issue would be a keeper for sure!

risalea said...

GDA, if everyone was happy with how they look naturally, my little business would be out of business! LOL

No, not weird at all about having to be made up for the camera, at least when you're talking TV or stage work. You're dealing with a whole different thing there....if you don't make-up to counteract the lighting, etc. what you get is a very unnatural look.

You do know I was teasing about the tanning lotion, don't you?

Oh, quick Amanda update--she was put back in a step-down room in ICU. Thanks for keeping her in your thoughts and prayers.

Y'all have a great weekend out there!

What kind of skirt? Pleated? Ruffled? Mini?

EmilyBoo said...

I hope Chris can do the skirt thing! I wonder if there's any way fro-patro-ers from all over can get a copy of the publication.

rosalee said...

Emilyboo -
Go to skirt.com and choose a location (greenville) from the drop down menu (or go directly to greenville.skirt.com). On the horizontal bar about 1 1/2 inches below the top of the screen, point to "Skirt! greenville", and then point to the Features tab. On the right you'll see a list including "He's So Original". Click on that. There's already one story there. I guess Chris's story and pic will show up there if he does it.

Risa -
Phil has a gig in Kansas City, Missouri on July 5th. Too bad.

Carrie -
However, the good news is that Phil has a date in Buffalo on
June 20th.

Rosalee,
I didn't see your response about skirt until probably many days after you wrote it. I'll try to remember to check back, but I'm sure if it happens, you'll have it up on the fansite in no time! Thanks!
