31

Today I turn 31.  Wow.  31.

My dad had 2 kids by the time he was 31.

Paul McCartney sold 100 million records and had literally conquered the world by the age of 31.  Oh, yeah, and his band had broken up already by the time he was 31.

Bono had made his most successful record (Joshua Tree) and was working on releasing his (and U2's) greatest artistic achievement (Achtung Baby) by the age of 31.

Jimi Hendrix had changed his name, changed the world of music and overdosed before he ever came close to 31.

Stevie Wonder had been signed for almost 20 years by the time he reached 31.  The 70's brought Stevie unbelievable success and his albums changed the landscape of R&B music.  And he didn't turn 31 until 1981.  Sick.

I could continue to go on...but the point is this...I've been incredibly blessed thus far.  But I have so much to do!  And I'm excited to see what the future holds.

Here's to 31!

Chris,
First off "Happy Birthday!". Take it from someone who is way older than 31, you are always going to feel like there is more you want to do in life no matter how old you are. The important thing is to enjoy the sucess that you have had, and as you said, "Look forward to the future." I have a pretty good feeling that you have a very bright future ahead of you.

You have been blessed with many gifts.
Delight in this day, your birthday.
Cherish who you are.
As we who know you treasure you.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I remember my 31st birthday very well. It's the only one that has ever bothered me....not 30, 40, or 50. (I know, I know, you thought I was just 30 something, didn't you? LOL) Blame it on the teacher in me, I guess, but 30 was ok, cause it was next to 29, but 31, well, it was no longer touching the 20's on the number line. : )

Carmen's right...there's always more to do, no matter your age, and when there's not, well, that's when you start getting old, IMHO.

Two Dove nominations, hit song for Rascal Flatts, songwriting and singing talent out the wazoo, beautiful wife, adoring fans, yep, I'd say you've got it going on at 31.

Learn from the past, enjoy your present, anticipate the future! Have a WONDERFUL birthday!!

Dude, Happy Birthday! I think I've told you this before but with the "to do" list that exists in that head of yours, let's face it, one lifetime may not be long enough to get it all done.

I think you have much to be proud of at this stage in your life, enjoy today, your tomorrows are only gonna get better!

Sending you much Happy Birthday love from DJ in AL!

Have a good one!

Just remember:

"Hey now, you're an All Star, get your game on, go play
Hey now, you're a Rock Star, get the show on, get paid
And all that glitters is gold
Only shooting stars break the mold"

Chris!
Celebrate BIG today! Know that we are all thinking of you and wishing we could be picnic-ing w/ya right now instead of taking care of Monday business.

Evaluate your current life in light of your place/position when you wrote Are You Pleased. From my view, you are WAY down the road. Keep being emptied and filled, brother.

Oh, and be sure you check your FB today. There's a little somethin' from a few of us there.

Blessings from AZ.

Chris,
HAPPY BELATED B-DAY! You have accomplished so much in 31 years. You're nominated for two prestigeous Christian music awards, have been on a national TV show, have traveled abroud, have a #1 song on the Country charts etc. You are awesome!

One hundred years from now it won't matter how many records you sold, how much money you made, what kind of car you had, how big your house was, how many children you had. All that will matter is that YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIFE OF ANOTHER PERSON.
Believe me, you have made a difference in SO many lives with your music, your humbleness, your ability to reach out to others, and your love for your wife and fans (sharing your experiences in music with your fans). I can't wait to see you in July.

I wish my 31st b-day had been like yours!

Risa-did you get my info and check?
I hope you have a blast at the doves! I want to hear all the dirt-I guess pictures are out of the question since they'll probably confiscate your camera-I'd love to see you in your beautiful dresses! I'll be thinking of you on the 23rd.
If you get to see or meet Amy Grant say "Hello" from me. I would love to meet her. If I saw her and Chris at the same time I'd probably pass out! Tell Chris Good Luck!
WE LOVE YOU Chris!
