Gina Glocksen

So, this week, Gina Glocksen is in town, staying with Sarah and me.  I've been on Gina for months to come into town to write songs for her record...she finally had time when I had time and she came Monday night.

Tuesday morning we wrote with Jason Walker.  We got a great 70's vibing modern pop song that is really cool.  Then, Jason came up with a cool piano riff that Gina and I took after Jason left and made a great song.  Both songs are great, but the second one we wrote is freaking awesome!  It's just nice pop piano ballad, but the words are pretty awesome...she really dug inside and wrote some great stuff from life experience.

Wednesday, we wrote with a new friend of mine, Adam Smith.  Adam is, in my humble opinion, one of the most talented people I've worked with in Nashville....or ever.  He is a great musician who knows music and loves music and has a ton of knowledge of how to get great sounds and write great songs using those sounds.  We wrote a KILLER song with Adam.  Really cool synthy pop rock.

I think you guys are gonna be blown away with the stuff Gina is doing.  It's edgy, different and rocking - but rocking with autonomy...in other words, it's not JUST big guitars.  It's got cool keyboards and interesting stuff going on with the guitars instead of just stacking a bunch of guitars in order to "rock".

Anyway...today, we wrote with Jeff Spence, who wrote "When Did You Go" with me.  Gina recorded that song, too (and she sounds GREAT on it!).  She loved "When Did You Go" so it was natural to get Jeff over to write, too.  We wrote another killer pop rock song.  It's a party song and it sounds great!

Tomorrow, we are writing with Clint Lagerberg, who of course wrote "Empty Me" and "Here Comes Goodbye" with me.  I expect that I'll have another song or two to talk about!

So, look for new music from Gina Glocksen very soon.

I can't wait for Gina to finally have an album out. I loved when I met her, she was SO nice and the duet you two did together will always be my favorite from that concert. I'm really glad you're the one helping her write, too because now I know that even if she doesn't sell a ton of copies she SHOULD because she's going to have some amazing songs.

Gina was one of my faves on season 6 and I so enjoyed her performances on the AI tour. Looking forward to hearing her new material. I don't see how she can miss writing with you and all those other talented folks. Please tell her hi and best wishes from the FP.

OK, off to a school, then to Bunco weekend at the lake and back in time to do the League video for "Empty Me"! Busy weekend...have a great one, everybody!

I would be interesting to hear what Gina does with her recordings as her solo spot was one of the two bright spots of my AI experience. Basicly show stopping, which is saying a lot given the rest of that evening.

Chris, you made your point with the last twitter comment, time for another message even it's just hi.

Chris,
So glad that Gina and you were able to get together and write some songs. I have so totally been bumed that she hasn't put out a CD or even an EP yet. She was my favorite girl from AI6. That girl has a killer voice and can really rock!!!
I have been keeping tabls on different appearences she has made in the last year. Unfortunately nothing close to Florida. If that girl gets within 300 miles of me to do a show, I am defintely going to see her and I will defintely buy her CD when it comes out.

Looking forward to hearing the new songs!!

Thanks Chris! I have been wondering what that Illinois girl has been doing, and this is all VERY good news! :-D *waves at Gina*

Helping get her good songwriters to work with and uncover her potential is a really wonderful thing. Hugs to you, for that. Thanks so much for this nice update-- can't wait to hear them!

That excites me greatly! You both were my absolute favorites on the show, so yay! :) Although I'm biased when I say you were a favorite since I knew you from NGC... :D
