Kinda bored

I've been kind of lazy and bored lately. I recently got 3 games for my Playstation and it seems any free time I have has been spent playing those games.

I got Madden 2007, Godfather: the Game, and the new Tombraider. I haven't played Tombraider yet because I've been playing Madden since I got it. I beat Godfather, too, but now I'm going to play it again and try to get some new things done in it now that I know what I'm doing.

Anyway, American Idol started Tuesday. I admit that I watched all 4 hours of the double night premiere. I feel like it was such a waste of time...so many bad singers. So few good ones. Hopefully it gets better.

And I have hunch it will.

Oh Chris, you sly devil you!...

We saw the Minneapolis episode but missed the Seattle one. Boy, there seem to be slim pickings!

Fortunately, we were able to catch a clip of the Seattle guy who made Simon laugh. :-)
It seems like this season, Paul is meaner and Simon is nicer. It will be interesting to see how that plays out.. Meanwhile, we're looking forward to what the other city auditions will bring...

Hey Chris, this is Titus Curtis. The name probably won't ring a bell, but it will to your fellow reader Will Gray - (hey Will). We spent some time at the same university :-) I'm not a big blogger, but my wife was watching idol tonight and heard the name Chris Sligh, and was sure she recognized the name. We, got on your blog, and realized that we have taken the same musical journey. I kept reading it out loud to my wife and laughing - the whole "Cocomo" thing - anyhow, I totally was at that same point. I'm now pursuing my own music career and the whole band, debut album thing. Anyhow wanted to say hey and encourage you on your journey. TitusJustus.com (website will be overhauled with CD release but it's a start). tituscurtis@hotmail.com

just watching my DVR'ed episode of american idol - the birmingham auditions. You made me laugh out loud! I had to watch your audition TWICE! The line about david hasselhoff - and making all the judges laugh.... GREAT JOB.

holy cow...so funny. Your wife is a lucky girl! Do you make her laugh all the time???

Love that you're a strong Christ follower AND a great singer AND hilarious. cannot WAIT to see how you do in hollywood.

oh yeah - and I'm linking to you on my blog. I'm sure everyone loves you!

PS: second favorite moment of the night is Ryan Seacrest standing up straight, gazing awkwardly into the camera and saying, "I like Alabama. Do you?" with an odd smile.

Good Job Man! We'll be voting for you!

How are you managing not to let us know what happened? Such supreme self-control is a sign of the H.S. in your life. And, as a mom of teen boys who game their free hours away, thanks for giving me hope that the brain cells survive.

You were totally great on Idol last night. Everyone in the office has been talking about you today. You did a great job with a tough song! And SO funny!

And it did look like Paula wanted you, dude. Look out. ;)

I'm kinda bored, too... which is why I'm venturing out reading peoples blogs.

I admit I contribute to an AI blog and someone linked to your other blog, then your profile led me to this blog, and it looks like you've got some others... but that's how this stuff happens.

I don't know nothin' bout playin' no games, though. My kids like Guitar Hero, I'm sure that would cure your boredom pretty quickly if you haven't already partaken (partook? maybe both are wrong) of this marvel.

Anywho...

Chris,
My husband and I, and my brother and his wife also attended the same university as you. We loved your audition and will be voting for you! Good Luck and God bless!

Chris, I saw you for the 1st time at Seacoast, Mt Pleasant Site. How awesome! I am also an American Idol fanatic... I am so excited you made it to Hollywood. I saw your audition last night and then at work today... My friend who also saw you at Seacoast, Spotted you on the AOL Homepage. You go now!!! We watched your audition on there and shared it with others in the office. It was a great little clip. But I am excited and pulling for you. I just wanted to say so.
God Bless

Hi Chris,

Great show last night. To borrow a phrase from one of my favorite musicians, "you're as cool as the other side of the pillow"! Who can blame Paula, really? :)

Seattle was quite the freak show. My goodness this season is full of weirdos and monotone singers. :) Thankfully there was a good singer this past Tues. I'm good friends with your brother Jon, so I recorded your audition on a DVD. If you want a copy let me know. Rock on Chris.

I work right across Pleasantburg Dr from your old stomping grounds, and have seen you downtown before. As long as you come back and perform at Downtown Alive next year, we promise to keep voting for you. Good luck.

Hey Chris,

You probably don't remember me but I was the Office Manager at the church you were youth pastor at. I'm not there on staff any longer (still there for church but on my own neat God journey vocationally) but someone e-mailed me with "Did you see Chris Sligh on AI last night?" Anyway, blessings to this new chapter and perhaps I will eventually say, "I worked with him back when..."

By the way, read your story and had to laugh--I went to PCC too!

I have a strong feeling that at some point you are going to be reminiscing about those times you were bored and playing video games, because those times will be long gone.
Mind you, this is just a hunch.
